Foo Fighters Part With Drummer Josh Freese

Josh Freese, the drummer brought in to fill the vacancy left by late Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins, announced that he'd been let go by the band.

"I’ve never been let go from a band, so while I’m not angry — just a bit shocked and disappointed," said Freese, who filled the vacancy left by the late Taylor Hawkins Freese joined the Foo Fighters in May 2023 as the band prepared to embark on their first tour since Hawkins’ sudden death in March 2022. Prior to joining the Foos, Freese was an in-demand session and live drummer who’d played with everyone from Guns N’ Roses and Nine Inch Nails to Paramore and Devo.
