FKA Twigs Fires Back at U.K. Ban on Her Nearly Nude Calvin Klein Campaign: ‘I Am Proud’

The ‘Holy Terrain’ songstress took to Instagram on January 10 to publicly slam the United Kingdom’s recent ban on her nearly-naked Calvin Klein campaign.

After the U.K.’s Advertising Standards Authority(ASA) deemed that the campaign from April 2023 “objectified women,” the 36-year-old took to Instagram to share a photo of the poster and penned a lengthy statement about her position. “in light of reviewing other campaigns past and current of this nature, i can’t help but feel there are some double standards here.” FKA twigs is not the first person to pose nearly nude for the underwear brand, as Kendall Jenner, Jeremy Allen White, and many others have also done the same. “so to be clear… i am proud of my physicality and hold the art i create with my vessel to the standards of women like josephine baker, eartha kitt and grace jones who broke down barriers of what it looks like to be empowered,” FKA twigs continued.
