First Brazilian Series at Series Mania, ‘Raul Seixas: Let Me Sing,’ Follows on the Footsteps of ‘I’m Still Here’: ‘A Door Has Been Opened’

Globoplay's biopic of iconic musician Raul Seixas makes history as the first-ever Brazilian production at Series Mania.

The project is an original production of Globoplay, the freemium streaming service of Brazilian media giant Globo, and tells the story of one of Brazil’s greatest music stars, Raul Seixas. Part of the technique developed for the series consisted of mixing the voice of Andrade with that of Tony Gambel, a singer who often covers Seixas’s music and was found through country-wide open auditions. Paulo agrees, saying that the series playing in France also “speaks to the current moment of Brazilian cinema post the success of ‘I’m Still Here.’” “A door has been opened and we are thrilled to be able to be a part of it,” concludes the director.
