FilmSharks Boards Sandra Gugliotta’s ‘Irremediable’ from Magma Cine (EXCLUSIVE)
FilmSharks has snagged world sales rights to Sandra Gugliotta’s ‘Irremediable,’ a dramatic thriller lead produced by Argentina’s Magma Cine.
Said Magma’s Videla Peña: ‘Irremediable’ is a story that, with the intensity of a thriller, explores themes deeply relevant to contemporary society, such as desire, moral boundaries, powerlessness in the face of free choice, racial discrimination, obstetric violence, forced or chosen motherhood, social pressures and ethical dilemmas.” Gugliotta, considered part of the wave of the New Argentine Cinema, has directed, written and produced a range of films, from her 2002 drama “A Lucky Day” to thriller “The Pursuer” and documentary “Retiros (in)voluntarios.” Magma Cine’s notable credits include “Ardor” “La Sangre Brota” and “El Asaltante” by Pablo Fendrik and “Chile ‘76” by Manuela Martelli, which played at Cannes’ Directors’ Fortnight and won a Platino Award for best debut film.
