Figure Skater Who Lost Parents in DC Plane Crash Performs Tribute Routine


Figure skater Maxim Naumov, who lost his parents in January’s DC plane crash, was overcome with emotion after performing a routine in their honor

The event served as a benefit for the loved ones and families of those affected by the January 29 plane crash, which took the lives of 28 members of the figure skating community. In total, 67 people were killed when a commercial airliner collided with an Army helicopter near D.C.’s Ronald Reagan National Airport and crashed into the Potomac River. Olympic gold medalist Brian Boitano reflected on the tragic plane crash that killed multiple American figure skaters after spending a special week alongside them in Wichita, Kansas.
