Figure Skater Scott Hamilton Says 1st Brain Tumor 'Ignited My Faith’


Olympic gold medalist Scott Hamilton reflected on the three decades that have passed since his initial cancer diagnosis and the role his faith has played in the process

The Olympian, who took home the gold in the men’s singles event at the 1984 Winter Olympics in Sarajevo, was first diagnosed with testicular cancer in 1997. Hamilton opting to “get strong” meant eschewing chemotherapy or additional surgery, a decision he credits to an inner calling.
