Fawlty Towers star Prunella Scales 'not well enough to understand' death of husband Timothy West

Fawlty Towers star Prunella Scales, who has been suffering from dementia since 2014, is reportedly "not well enough" to comprehend the death of her husband Timothy West

The much-loved actor's death was confirmed by his agent and his children, Samuel, Juliet, and Joseph, in a heartfelt statement: "After a long and extraordinary life on and off the stage, our darling father Timothy West died peacefully in his sleep yesterday evening. The iconic pair first crossed paths in the early '60s on the set of the period drama She Died Young and quickly became notorious for their warm relationship. The couple tied the knot in 1963, and Timothy paid homage to their bond in Pru and Me: A Love Story, his memoir released last year celebrating their diamond anniversary.
