Fatman Scoop DIES aged 53 after collapsing on stage mid-performance
Rapper Fatman Scoop - real name Issaac Freeman III - has passed away aged 53 after suffering a medical emergency on stage in Connecticut on Friday.
Freeman's manager, DJ and producer Birch Michael, announced the rapper's death 'with the heaviest of hearts' in posts to social media on Saturday morning. A three-time Grammy Award winner, in recent years Fatman Scoop ventured into podcasting and reality TV, including appearing on Channel 5 's Celebrity Big Brother: UK vs USA in 2015. In 2014 he revealed he was first given the nickname Fatman Scoop by his uncle, due to his love of ice cream, despite rumours Lauryn Hill had bestowed it on him when he appeared as an extra in the Fugee's 1996 video for Killing Me Softly.
