Wicked star Cynthia Erivo may have let slip a major spoiler about the future of the blockbuster musical while promoting the film in Los Angeles on Sunday However, the film director John M. Chu had to place it on hold in July 2023 due to the SAG-AFTRA strike and picked back up after the winter holidays of that same year and eventually concluded in January 2024. Along with Erivo and Ariana Grande, the film's cast also includes Michelle Yeoh, Jeff Goldblum, Jonathan Bailey, Ethan Slater, Marissa Bode, Bowen Yang, Bronwyn James, Keala Settle, Peter Dinklage, Aaron Teoh, Grecia de la Paz, Colin Michael Carmichael, Adam James and Andy Nyman.
