Fake Elmo LinkedIn Profile Goes Viral After Being “Laid Off” From ‘Sesame Street’ Amid Trump Budget Cuts


After the Trump administration terminated education grants this week that have long funded PBS Kids, Elmo is seeking employment.

“Unfortunately Elmo was recently laid off because of the federal budget cuts,” the Muppet began in the since-deleted post that has been shared on X. Noting that he’s “open to full-time or freelance roles,” the fake Elmo added, “If you hear of any opportunities, or want a hug, let’s connect. The Trump Department of Education will prioritize funding that supports meaningful learning and improving student outcomes, not divisive ideologies and woke propaganda.”
