Extreme Makeover host Clea Shearer reveals 'traumatic' condition requiring emergency surgery after cancer
Clea Shearer announced Tuesday that she is having emergency surgery to address a 'traumatic' complication that has arisen after numerous cancer surgeries.
Extreme Makeover: Home Edition host Clea Shearer revealed Tuesday on Instagram that she was going to the hospital for emergency surgery for complications from her double mastectomy However, she said she hopes to have Latissimus dorsi flap surgery performed in November, which could recreate the original shape of her breast without some of the post-surgery complications she has experienced in recent months. For the procedure, surgeons make an incision on the back near the shoulder blade to remove skin and fat, as well as accompanying blood vessels and part of the latissimus muscle, which is involved in twisting movements.
