Execs Credit Adam Levine for ‘The Voice’ Trouncing ‘American Idol’: ‘He Could Ask for the Moon’
NBC Execs are thrilled with Adam Levine as 'The Voice' wins over 'Idol' in ratings after his long-awaited return, a source exclusively tells Life & Style.
While Idol attempted to revamp their panel by bringing previous winner Carrie Underwood on for Season 22 to replace Katy Perry and join returning judges Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan, it couldn’t quite match the magic created by cohosts Adam Levine, John Legend, Kelsea Ballerini and Michael Bublé over at The Voice. With a clear trend emerging, the source notes network bigwigs at NBC are crediting the Maroon 5 frontman, 46, for clinching the win over Fox’s iconic show. He married Behati Prinsloo in 2014 and welcomed two daughters: Dusty Rose, in 2016 and Gio Grace, in 2018, which led him to ultimately decide to take a break and get as much family time in as possible while they’re young.
