As he promised last week, ex-Foo Fighters drummer Josh Freese has shared a comical list of the 10 possible reasons he might have been fired from the band — none of which seem terribly realistic. Reps for the band offered no reason or insight, but musically speaking, the term “different direction” is almost comical, as Freese is one of the most versatile drummers working in the rock realm, with credits ranging from Sting to Guns N’ Roses, from Nine Inch Nails to Weezer, and at Coachella in 2023 he played with both 1000 Gecs and Danny Elfman — on the same day. Thus, it’s no surprise that Freese said he was “shocked and disappointed” by the decision, although he concluded by saying, “Stay tuned for my ‘Top 10 possible reasons Josh got booted from the Foo Fighters’ list.”
