While she wanted the girls to wait until they were older to watch their work, she thought the 1987 George Harrison music video Denisof starred in (“Got My Mind Set On You”) was a safe place to start. American Pie became an instant classic upon its July 1999 release, in which viewers watched a quartet of high school seniors plot to lose their respective virginities before graduation day.
