Eurovision's Olly Alexander left sobbing over devastating TV moment

Eurovision hopeful Olly Alexander opened up about how one scene in his hit Channel 4 drama about the AIDS epidemic, It's A Sin, left him so emotional that filming had to be paused

The 33 year old star won over a new fanbase with his portrayal of naive yet vibrant gay teen Ritchie Tozer, and spoke to The New York Times about the moment that reduced him to tears. Olly recalled how director Peter Hoar had to pause filming of the emotionally charged scene from episode 4, which unfolds after Ritchie and his friends are arrested for protesting against the UK government's lack of action during the HIV/AIDS pandemic. In the same interview, Olly expressed his delight that the show led to a record number of HIV tests, as reported by sexual health charity Terrence Higgins Trust.
