European Film Awards Set Athens As Location For January 2027 Ceremony
The European Film Awards, Europe’s equivalent of the Oscars, will head to the Greek capital of Athens for its 39th ceremony on January 16 2027. The date shift was announced in 2023 as part of a drive to make the EFAs more relevant in the wider awards season. “The selection of Athens highlights the city’s long and rich cultural heritage and also reflects Greece’s growing dynamism and influence in the European film and audiovisual industry.”
