Esta TerBlanche, ‘All My Children’ Actor, Dies at 51


Esta TerBlanche, best known for her role as Gillian Andrassy on 'All My Children,' has died. She was 51.

Her character was married to Ryan Lavery (Cameron Mathison), who removed her from life support after she was shot by an assassin in a case of mistaken identity. Early in her career as an actor, TerBlanche was cast as Beatrice “Bienkie” Naudé Hartman on “Egoli: Place of Gold,” the first South African soap opera, which she appeared in from 1992 to 1995. After Gillian’s death on “All My Children” in 2001, TerBlanche returned to South Africa, where she opened a spa and worked on documentaries with filmmaker Michael Kastenbaum, Soap Opera Digest reported.
