Erik and Lyle Menendez Resentencing Cases Will Be Handled Separately
Los Angeles District Attorney Nathan Hochman, who took over for George Gascon, offered a surprising update about the Erik and Lyle Menendez resentencing cases
They were originally arrested in 1990 on two counts of first-degree murder after their parents, José and Kitty Menéndez, were found dead in their own Beverly Hills home. After being locked away for nearly three decades, Erik and Lyle’s murder case returned to the spotlight through the release of Ryan Murphy ’s Netflix series Monsters, which provided a dramatized look at their lives. After there was renewed interview in Erik, 53, and Lyle’s high-profile case 25 years later, Los Angeles District Attorney George Gascón announced on October 4 that a hearing has been set amid new evidence.
