In the tense weeks that followed, Carmen started to tweet slogans associated with the fringe-right QAnon movement, like “the storm is coming,” along with absurd lies about Dominion and Smartmatic voting machines rigging the election, and fevered, Alex Jones-style declarations about an impending apocalypse. Carmen envisioned his second solo album as a grand artistic statement on par with Abbey Road — he even unsuccessfully attempted to recruit Beatles producer George Martin — and the songs he wrote told the story of a life filled with loneliness and heartbreak. Heartfelt video testimonials were delivered by some of the biggest names in rock & roll: Kiss’ Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons, Van Halen’s Sammy Hagar and Michael Anthony, Cheap Trick’s Robin Zander, John Oates, the Beach Boys’ Al Jardine, Foreigner’s Lou Gramm, Peter Frampton, Clive Davis, and others.
