England sporting legend dead at 55 as tributes pour in


Graham Thorpe, who played for Surrey and England, has sadly died at the age of 55. The former cricketer was captain of the England side and also coached the team

Steve Elworthy, CEO at Surrey CCC, also paid tribute: "Everyone associated with the Club is devastated by the tragic news of Graham's passing. A statement, at the time from the PCA, read: "Graham Thorpe has recently fallen seriously ill and is currently in hospital receiving treatment. "His skill was unquestioned, and his abilities and achievements across a 13-year international career brought so much happiness to his team-mates and England and Surrey CCC supporters alike.
