Emotional Helen Skelton vows to honour pal Jonnie Irwin's legacy in heartbreaking TV tribute following his tragic death from cancer aged 50


Jonnie passed away on Friday aged 50 after a three year battle with cancer .

Before adding: 'Now his passion was property, so we also followed his own renovation project to create a home for his two boys to support them in the future and today, we celebrate his life and as per Jonnie's wishes, continue the conversation around the effects of cancer.' Separately, Rob Unsworth, Head of BBC Daytime and Early Peak Commissioning said in a statement: 'Jonnie Irwin was an extraordinary man and wonderful presenter. 'More recently, he did some truly inspirational reports for Morning Live about his illness, tackling taboos around end of life care, and wonderfully demonstrating the limitless positivity that he brought to everything he did.
