The most memorable highlights from the Emmys 2024 opening monologue from co-hosts Dan and Eugene Levy.

The first father-son duo to host the Emmys, the pair made some fine self-deprecating jokes – Eugene had hoped, Dan said, to get them cast by Ryan Murphy as the Menendez Brothers – and also took some good-hearted swipes at this evening’s nominees. “Reservation Dogs has four nominations tonight,” Dan said, noting that the recognition was three-years-in-coming, as if the Emmys suddenly said, “Hey look what we discovered.” Finally, the duo pointed out the irony of having two very polite Canadians being in charge of interrupting winners whose speeches go too long.
