Emmy Predictions: Drama Series – ‘Shogun’ Leads Noms, but ‘The Crown’ Still Very Much in the Race

Despite receiving acting nominations for Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon, and a first-season win for supporting actor Billy Crudup, it has yet to secure a spot in the top category, making this year a vital opportunity. Given the TV Academy’s recent history of embracing genre series, such as “The Boys” for its second season, “Fallout” could resonate well in the evolving landscape, contending with other shows like Netflix’s “Avatar: The Last Airbender” and Disney+’s “Ahsoka.” Other new entries in the drama race also include Showtime’s “The Curse,” a satirical black comedy starring recently Oscar-crowned Emma Stone, and Netflix’s “3 Body Problem,” crafted by “Game of Thrones” creators David Benioff and D.B.
