Emmerdale star Beth Cordingly hit with agonising decision over future on ITV soap
Actress Beth Cordingly has been on our screens as Ruby for the past 18 months, earning a British Soap Award nomination for her portrayal of the fiery Emmerdale character.
Initially hesitant about the commute between Brighton and Leeds for the role of Ruby, Beth consulted her daughter before agreeing to a 12-month stint on the show. Initially, Beth knew only that Ruby would be a catalyst for change on the show, but the depth of her character's trauma and its impact were unknown to her. The prospect of playing a character at the heart of the action was what drove Beth to pursue the role in the Yorkshire-based soap, despite her home life in Brighton with her 11 year old daughter.
