Emmerdale legend hospitalised after harrowing four day hallucination ordeal while filming
The Ross Barton actor, 38, said that he was rushed to hospital with suspected Legionnaire's disease while he was out working in India for a Bollywood production.
Ross also became involved in many dangerous schemes including a plot to kill his brother Pete, but is most notably remembered for the heart-wrenching storyline which saw him battle with depression during his recovery from a devastating acid attack. He confirmed his departure from the ITV show on Twitter after five years in the role, with a source telling The Sun it was due to growing tired with the daily hours in the makeup chair as part of the acid attack storyline. However a source told The Sun at the time that Michael chose to leave the show due to being unhappy with his choice of story lines, as well as the hours he would spend having the makeup applied to recreate the scarring caused by an acid attack.
