Emmerdale confirms legend's off-screen exit after 18 years on soap
Emmerdale star Matthew Wolfenden has officially left the Woolpack, with the ITV soap confirming his exit in a scene with Pollard and Jacob in Tuesday night's episode
There's terrible news in store for fans of Emmerdale's David Metcalfe - the long-time character, played by Matthew Wolfenden, won't be returning to the soap. Back in November, David fled the village after discovering that his son Jacob Gallagher (Joe-Warren Plant) was in a secret relationship with his former girlfriend Victoria Sugden (Isabel Hodgins).
