Emma Roberts: I Blame ‘Internet Culture’ For ‘Madame Web’ Flop
Emma Roberts told Variety that she thinks ‘Madame Web’ was a victim of the internet’s tendency to turn everything into a joke
Roberts added that it “bums [her] out” that “people just make such a joke out of everything now.” She also noted that there is no magic formula for which projects will ultimately be successful. Roberts also shared that she was “ horrified and shocked ” by the alleged misconduct and abuse revealed in the behind-the-scenes children’s television documentary Quiet On Set. The satirical slasher, which ran from 2015 to 2016, featured an ensemble cast including Emma Roberts, Jamie Lee Curtis, Billie Lourd, Lea Michele, Abigail Breslin and Keke Palmer.
