Sir Elton John has bounced back after undergoing cancer and hip surgery, but even the Rocket Man admitted one lyric from his long-time collaborator left him pondering his own mortality
He even admitted that his ultimate indulgence, if ever given the chance for a so-called "death row meal", would be an array of forbidden desserts — ice cream, donuts, apple pie and rhubarb crumble. Prior to undergoing hip surgery, Sir Elton lamented: "Despite intensive physio and specialist treatment, the pain has continued to get worse and is leading to increasing difficulties moving. Opting for surgery over chemotherapy to prevent the disease from looming over his family, Sir Elton faced a serious setback when he developed an infection just days after the successful procedure, bringing him perilously close to death.
