Elton John Cannot See Out of One Eye, but Says ‘There’s Hope and Encouragement’

Elton John has been unable to see out of his right eye for the past four months following an eye infection from the summer.

In a new interview with Good Morning America, John provided more details about his vision after Robin Roberts asked him about the status of his new album. “There’s hope and encouragement that it will be OK, but I’m kind of stuck at the moment… going into the studio and recording, I don’t know.” He added that sitting down for the interview was feasible, but that he cannot read lyrics or watch anything. He recently teamed up with singer-songwriter Brandi Carlile for a new song “Never Too Late,” which soundtracks the latest documentary about his life.
