Elon Musk Says X and SpaceX Headquarters Are Moving Out of California

…and moving to Texas, blaming California’s latest transgender policy.

Musk said that the SAFETY Act, a law signed by California Governor Gavin Newsom that will prohibit school districts from requiring teachers to inform parents if a child wants to be identified by a different gender, was “the final straw.” “I did make it clear to Governor Newsom about a year ago that laws of this nature would force families and companies to leave California to protect their children,” Musk wrote in another post on X. He continued in a separate post that he has also “had enough of dodging gangs of violent drug addicts just to get in and out of the building,” apparently referring to issues in the neighborhood surrounding the X headquarters in the city’s Mid-Market Street area.
