In a recent standup routine, Ellen DeGeneres joked about getting 'kicked out of show business' amid the aftermath of her 2020 toxic workplace allegations on 'The Ellen DeGeneres Show'.

Even though Ellen DeGeneres is looking back at her talk show with a sense of humor, she can't deny that her unceremonious exit left deep wounds. The comedian was referring to a July 2020 BuzzFeed Newsreport, in which current and former staffers spoke anonymously about their experiences on set, which included claims of being penalized for taking medical leave, instances of racial microaggressions and fear of retribution for raising complaints. Noting how she ended her talk show each day by saying, "Be kind to one another," DeGeneres joked that it became a "problem" because people started to think of her as a "one-dimensional character who gave stuff away and danced up steps."
