Electric Light Orchestra keyboardist Richard Tandy dies age 76: Jeff Lynne leads tributes to 'remarkable musician' and his 'dear friend'
Jeff Lynne announced his 'dear friend' and longtime ELO bandmate had passed away in a Facebook post on Wednesday evening.
Lynne said: 'It is with great sadness that I share the news of the passing of my long-time collaborator and dear friend Richard Tandy. Tandy was born on March 26 1948 in Birmingham and educated at Moseley School, where he first met future bandmate Bev Bevan. In 2013, Tandy joined Lynne in performing two songs for Children In Need Rocks, Livin' Thing and Mr Blue Sky.
