Educating Yorkshire fans ‘sobbing’ as star marks incredible milestone 12 years later


Star of Educating Yorkshire, Musharaf Asgha, aka Mushy, has shared a surprising statement and fans have admitted they're feeling emotional a decade after the show aired

Educating Yorkshire student, Musharaf Asghar, known as Mushy, was seen on the Channel 4 series working to overcome his stammer in 2013 - and he’s just reached a huge milestone. It meant he struggled as a pupil at Thornhill Community Academy in Dewsbury until one of his teachers, Matthew Burton, was inspired to help him after watching The King's Speech. Matthew suggested Musharaf read while listening to music through headphones - a technique used by King George VI's speech therapist Lionel Logue.
