Channel 4 series Go Back to Where You Came From showed six Britons exploring war-torn countries in the Middle East and Africa to learn about what drives migrants to our shores.
One of the most vocal participants was ‘humanitarian’ podcaster Mathilda Mallinson, who was seen lecturing Yorkshire lorry driver Nathan Rimmington about his ‘privilege’ when he voiced anti-immigration views. She tells followers online of her participation in the documentary: ‘Six weeks before my wedding, I disappeared for a month – I was part of a journey to understand the real refugee crisis, guided by people living it. These days seen fronting BBC show The Bidding Room, as well as being a panto and daytime TV regular, Nigel Havers remains haunted by his failure to take advantage of Hollywood interest after 1981’s Chariots Of Fire.
