Ed Sheeran Dumps Photos From Old Phone Before Dropping New Song ‘Old Phone’

Ed Sheeran revealed that he'd been quietly sharing photos from a phone he stopped using in 2015 in anticipation of his next single, 'Old Phone.'

He started a new Instagram account,@TeddysOldPhone, and began sharing an array of old pictures — including one of him performing his first live gig — and even a few Notes App, text message, and email screenshots. He explained that all the images came from a phone he stopped using in 2015 (choosing to switch to email “full time”) but was compelled to turn on again during the discovery process for the “Thinking Out Loud” copyright infringement lawsuit( which Sheeran wonin 2023). In a new note, Sheeran explained that when he turned his old phone back on, the first thing he encountered was a message from his late friend, Jamal Edwards, who died in 2022.
