EastEnders' Heather Trott star Cheryl Fergison lands new acting role after turning to benefits


Cheryl Fergison, who played Heather Trott in EastEnders, has joined the cast of the BBC sitcom Mandy after admitting she was selling soap scripts to cover bills

New additions to the cast include Sian Gibson from Car Share, Rosie Cavaliero from The Power of Parker, Jamie Bisping from Things You Should Have Done, Joanna Bacon from Breeders, and Cheryl, although details of her character remain under wraps. Heather was the best friend of Shirley Carter (Linda Henry) and appeared on the show from 2007 until her tragic death in 2012 at the hands of Ben Mitchell(then played by Joshua Pascoe). She will star alongside Diane Morgan in hit BBC sitcom MandyLast year, Cheryl opened up about selling her old soap scripts and working at a Chinese restaurant to manage her finances amid the cost of living crisis.
