EastEnders have already announced a shock return for their upcoming 40th anniversary as the stars tease even more 'exciting things' planned for the monumental occasion

EastEnders ’ 40th anniversary is fast approaching, and with one shock return recently revealed, Emma Barton and Jamie Borthwick announced we can expect more “very exciting things” to come. He first ended up leaving in 1996, but made his shock return in 2012, where he reunited with estranged partner Carol Jackson (Lindsey Coulson), but suffered a heart attack at their wedding. “David Wicks is undoubtedly one of EastEnders' most beloved rogues, and we are thrilled to welcome the talented Michael French back to the legendary role as we lead up to the show’s 40th anniversary,” Executive Producer Chris Clenshaw said.
