EastEnders and Dad's Army star Ian Lavender laid to rest after emotional funeral service


Ian Lavender, best known for playing Private Pike in Dad's Army, died recently and was laid to rest in a moving funeral service surrounded by famous faces

The funeral included heartbreaking nods to the character he played in the BBC series, and the coffin of the Birmingham-born actor was draped in the colours of his favourite football club, Aston Villa, and mourners were treated to emotional performances from well-known names. Rick Wakeman from the band Yes, singer Alfie Boe and actor Tim Healy, known for Auf Wiedersehen Pet and Benidorm, were there to pay their respects at St Mary's Church in Woolpit.
