Eamonn Holmes was reportedly left 'blindsided' by his estranged wife Ruth Langsford publicly announcing their split, and 'wanted no part' in releasing a statement
A spokesperson told The Sun at the time: “Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes have confirmed their marriage is over and they are in the process of divorcing.” He said on his morning show, which he co-hosts with Isabel Webster: "Just before we move on we'd just like to thank people for your support for Ruth and I over the last few days as to the news of our separation. Claiming that Eamonn's health battle has played a large part in the relationship, one source has explained that Ruth felt more a 'carer' than wife.
