A24 posted the teaser for Benny Safdie’s feature on social media after Johnson flew into Cannes last week to meet with buyers about the UFC story. In The Smashing Machine, Johnson plays Kerr, the legendary MMA fighter from the no-holds-barred era of UFC. The movie, which A24 is producing and financing, puts them back in business with Safdie, who co-directed and co-wrote Uncut Gems($50 million at the domestic box office).
