Duolingo Teams With Sony Music to Bring Songs by Whitney Houston & More to Music Education Course


Duolingo is adding songs by Whitney Houston, P!nk and more to its music education course via a new partnership with Sony Music Group.

Mobile learning platform Duolingo has struck a partnership with Sony Music that will bring more than 60 recordings from Sony artists including Whitney Houston, Hozier, Pink and Meghan Trainor to Duolingo’s music education course, it was announced Thursday (Aug. 15). The list of available songs includes Houston’s “My Love Is Your Love” and “So Emotional”; Hozier’s “Work Song” and “Someone New”; P!nk’s “Get the Party Started” and “Funhouse”; Trainor’s “Made You Look”; Bleachers’ “Rollercoaster”; Cyndi Lauper’s “True Colors”; Cheap Trick’s “I Want You to Want Me”; TLC’s “Creep”; Train’s “Drops of Jupiter” and “Drive By”; Dove Cameron’s “Girl Like Me”; and many more. Added Jessica Shaw, senior vp of sync licensing at Sony Music: “Partnering with Duolingo gives us the opportunity to bring our artists’ music to a new platform that promotes learning and cultural exchange.
