Romain, who has directed a variety of music videos including for Bad Girls by MIA, previously dated Dua's fellow Albanian-British pop singer Rita Ora. They first became involved in 2015 after co-starring in the 2014 romantic drama Queen & Country, a British period piece set against the backdrop of the Korean War and the coronation of Elizabeth II.
