Dua Lipa explained the vulnerability behind ‘Radical Optimism,’ which she tells Billboard is her most personal album yet. Watch.

When asked what makes the 11-track project different from her past LPs — 2020’s Future Nostalgia and her 2017 self-titled debut — Lipa revealed that the songs are “more personal in a way that maybe people haven’t heard from me before.” Led by the singles “Houdini,” “Training Season” and “Illusion,” Radical Optimism was crafted by Lipa in collaboration with a team of fellow hitmakers, including Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker. “A couple years ago, a friend introduced me to the term ‘radical optimism,’” she said in a statement when announcing the new album in March.
