Drew Barrymore Learns a Hard Lesson About Getting ‘Soft and Gooey’ With Martha Stewart
Martha Stewart gave Drew Barrymore a gentle, playful shove after the daytime host pressed her about what makes her feel 'soft and gooey.'
Barrymore — who’s interview style has always been about taking mindful sincerity to, well, soft and gooey extremes — put a hand on Stewart’s shoulder and started rubbing her back, asking, “When you’re treated like a lady.” (For what it’s worth, Stewart’s been a guest on Barrymore’s show a few times, so it’s hard to imagine the cookbook author was actually shocked or taken aback by the treatment.) It was just shocking.” Specifically, she called out the final scenes where she said she looked like “a lonely old lady walking hunched over in the garden.” Stewart said she told Cutler to cut them, but he refused.
