Drea de Matteo defended her late costar James Gandolfini after HBO’s ‘Sopranos’ documentary left her ‘appalled’ at how he was portrayed

The HBO crime drama began in January 1999 with Tony Soprano (James Gandolfini) reluctantly walking into the office of his new psychiatrist, Jennifer Melfi (Lorraine Bracco), after having a panic attack. Edie Falco, who played Gandolfini’s on-screen wife, Carmela Soprano, speculated in Wise Guy that the Emmy-winning actor may have ended up “taking [his] work home” with him.
