Drake has withdrawn his legal petition against UMG and Spotify in relation to Kendrick Lamar's Drake-aimed diss-track “Not Like Us."

Drake has withdrawn his legal petition against Universal Music Group(UMG) and Spotify after accusing the companies of colluding to discount the streaming licensing rates on Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” in exchange for increased audibility. Drake’s attorneys made a pair of legal filings in November stating their intent to investigate if UMG artificially boosted the widespread praise of Lamar’s Drake-aimed diss-track by paying Spotify and iHeartRadio. “Under cover of the far-fetched contention that this gives rise to a civil RICO claim, Petitioner in this proceeding seeks to invoke the extraordinary remedy of pre-action discovery,” the opposition brief read.
