Drake Bell's Onscreen Mother Is 'Proud' of Him for Speaking Out About Abuse

Nancy Sullivan, who played Drake Bell's mother on 'Drake and Josh,' applauded him for speaking out about being abused by Brian Peck

Sullivan, 54, continued with a message for Bell, 37, adding, “Past abuse doesn’t define us, and it has no right to rule our lives, I know that putting this burden down will free him in so many ways. Drake Bell spoke out about being sexually assaulted by Nickelodeon’s Brian Peck for the first time in the new docuseries, Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV. Before the doc aired, Nickelodeon released statement to Us Weekly, which read, “Now that Drake Bell has disclosed his identity as the plaintiff in the 2004 case, we are dismayed and saddened to learn of the trauma he has endured, and we commend and support the strength required to come forward.”
