Doug Gilmour, once a huge name in the Toronto Maple Leafs fraternity, has made quite the media fuss on Twitter with his hype tweet just before the much-anticipated Battle of Ontario match. The Hall of Famer made his simple but inspiring comment that Leafs Nation would best “bring the noise” since “the boys can hear you,” along with the million-dollar question: “Who’s the hero?” Cue all the prediction, hot takes, and raw, unleashed hockey energy. Gilmour is pegged as somebody who pitches up the intensity right before a major match, and so here comes Leafs Nation, armed to the teeth with its troll armies and memes, and its unshakeable faith.
