Doobie Brothers, George Clinton, Beach Boys’ Mike Love Among 2025 Songwriters Hall of Fame Inductees

George Clinton, The Doobie Brothers' Tom Johnston, Michael McDonald and Patrick Simmons and The Beach Boys' Mike Love are among this year's inductees.

Also set for induction: Country music songwriter Ashley Gorley, who has written hits for Post Malone, Morgan Wallen, Chris Stapleton, Luke Bryan and Carrie Underwood; Grammy-winning Rodney “Darkchild” Jerkins, who produced hits for, among many others, Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, George Michael and Mariah Carey; and “Build Me Up Buttercup” hitmaker Tony Macaulay. We are therefore very proud that we are continually recognizing some of the culturally most important writers of all time and that this year’s slate represents not just iconic songs, but also diversity and unity across genres and ethnicity. Among the 2025 nominees who didn’t make this year’s cut are Janet Jackson, Eminem, N.W.A, Boy George, Sheryl Crow and Sonny Curtis.
