Donald Trump Wanted Ivanka to Replace Him on ‘The Apprentice’ (EXCLUSIVE)

In the new book 'Apprentice in Wonderland,' Trump talks about his years as NBC's most popular reality TV star

When Donald Trump left his seat in the boardroom as the star of his long-running NBC reality series “ The Apprentice ” in 2015, in order to run for president of the United States, he had a clear successor in mind. “Apprentice in Wonderland” is based on unprecedented access and hours of interviews with Trump after he left the White House in January 2021— as well as his original boardroom advisers George Ross and Carolyn Kepcher, NBC executives and dozens of former contestants. In the end, this continuation of “The Apprentice” led by Ivanka didn’t come together, since NBC cut ties with Donald Trump when he ran for president and immediately made derogatory comments about Mexican immigrants in July 2015.
